Two men were arrested attempting to break into a Cell C substation in the east of Pretoria on Monday.
Brinant Security chairperson Anton Nieuwoudt said this happened on the NG church grounds in Monument Park West around 06:00.
Nieuwoudt said one of their patrol officers saw four men attempting to break into the substation containing copper cables.
“Two of the men were apprehended by [patrol] officers, and the other two fled.”
He said the men were handed over to police who confirmed the men had pending cases of robberies and break-ins in Monument Park.
Lyttelton police spokesperson Captain Dave Miller said two men were brought into custody on Monday and were found in possession of housebreaking implements.
“The two would appear in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court today [Tuesday],” said Miller.
