NEWSFLASH: Teamwork leads to two arrests
The two men were cornered near the Engen Garage in Lenchen Avenue and were arrested after a DVD player was found in their possession.
Two men were arrested for possession of stolen property in Centurion on Thursday morning.
ADT’s community development manager Maurice Malan said an ADT patrol officer spotted the men at a house in Zwartkop around 09:00.
He said the perpetrators fled when they saw the ADT vehicle.
“They jumped over a fence leading to Lenchen Avenue.”
Malan said the officer gave chase.
“He called for back-up and was assisted by the Lyttelton policing sector 1 CPF, who alerted Monitor Net.”
Malan said the two men were cornered near the Engen Garage in Lenchen Avenue.
He said police arrived shortly after and the two were arrested.
“The men were in possession of a DVD player,” said Malan.
He thanked ADT officers, Monitor Net and the Lyttelton policing forum sector 1 CPF for their efforts.
Lyttelton police were still to confirm the arrest at the time of going to print.
