Teen kills grandfather
The 18-year-old was arrested on Friday after strangling his grandfather.
An 18-year-old was arrested on Friday night following the death of his grandfather in Eersterust, Temba.
Police spokesperson Constable Herman Moremi said the 59-year-old victim’s decomposed body was found by his wife inside his house.
“The teenager was found hiding behind a pit toilet. “
Moremi said the teenager confessed to strangling his grandfather on Tuesday when they fought over a gate key.
“They stayed together in the house while the deceased’s wife came home on Fridays. “
The teenager will appear at the Moretele’s Magistrate Court on Monday facing murder charges, Moremi said.
