One of the robbers was shot in the leg by metro police after a shoot-out ensued.
Two people were arrested attempting to rob a business in Olievenhoutbosch on Friday.
Tshwane Metro police department (TMPD) spokesperson Senior-Superintendent Isaac Mahamba said: “Four people ran away when they saw the metro officers. The officers ran after them.”
“The robbers started shooting at the officers when they noticed they were being chased,” he said.
Mahamba said the officers returned fire. One of the robbers was shot in the leg and was arrested.
The officers managed to arrest another one while two managed to get away.
He said no officers were injured and they were still searching for the two robbers still at large.
“As a continuation of the transport month more arrests were made over the weekend,” he said.
Twelve people were arrested during an operation in the Pretoria CBD for drinking and driving.
Sixty-seven pedestrians were arrested for illegal crossings on freeways.
Three people were arrested for possession of drugs, two in Pretoria and one in Queenswood.
A total of 72 people were arrested.
Mahamba thanked the officers for their dedicated work.
“The Tshwane metro is determined to create a safe environment for all,” he said.
“As a department, we will continue to fight crime and reduce road fatalities. Road operations will be done continuously to ensure fitness of drivers and vehicles.”
