Examination preparations tips
The department of basic education has issued tips for matriculants.

Matriculants are getting into the groove of writing what may be the most important examination of their lives. There are a few measures to consider when studying for this important occasion.
The department of basic education has issued tips for pupils preparing for their final exams.
“Have all your study material ready before you start. Pencils, pens, highlighters and paper. Make sure your brain holds on to the information by reminding yourself how important it is to remember the work and get the marks,” said the department in a statement.
The department also reminded pupils to rest their minds and bodies.
“Sleeping at least eight hours every night, eating properly and drinking plenty of water are all important things you need for your brain. Studying for exams is like strenuous exercise. Therefore you must be physically prepared,” said the statement.
The department said regular revision was also important.
“Teach your concepts to anyone who will listen. It might feel strange at first, but it is definitely worth reading your revision notes out loud. Your brain learns well with colours and pictures, try to use these whenever you can,”
The department also advised parents to reduce the house chores for their children during the exams.
