Deja vu for man carrying drugs

The man had been previously been arrested for a similar crime.

A 54-year-old man appeared in the Pretoria North Magistrate’s Court on Friday.

The man was arrested for possession of drugs on Thursday at the corner of Paul Kruger Street and Lavender Road in the north of Pretoria.

Police spokesperson, Rebecca Phatlane said: “An officer was on patrol when he saw a white male who had been previously arrested [for a drugs crime].”

She said the man was carrying a bag, when the officer stopped him for a search.

Phatlane said: “The officer found in the bag’s front pocket, eight syringes with fluid and blood.”

Phatlane said the man had been previously been arrested following a similar offence.
