NEWSFLASH: Man arrested with R100 000 worth of dagga
”The man tried to bribe metro police officers but they turned his offer down”.
A 46-year-old man was arrested in the Pretoria CBD on Friday morning for the possession of twelve bags of dagga.
Tshwane metro police spokesperson Senior Superintendent Isaac Mahamba said his officers stopped a grey Nissan Navara on the corner of Es’kia Mphahlele Drive and Johannes Ramokhoase Street.
“The man failed to produce his driver’s licence when he was asked to, and the officers when to search the car then spotted the bags in the back of the vehicle,” said Mahamba.
“The 46 year old motorist from Soshanguve tried to bribe the officers who turned his offer down.”
The man was arrested for dealing and possession of dagga and is expected to appear in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court next week.
Mahamba said the estimated street value of the dagga was R100 000.
“As a department, we would like to take this opportunity to thank the officers for performing their duties with honesty. We will continue to fight for a drug-free society through the hard work of our dedicated officers,” he said.
