Picket in support of Gordhan in Brooklyn
Johannesburg Against Injustice to picket at Brooklyn Mall on Friday in support of Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan.
As his court date nears, Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan’s supporters are ramping up their campaign.
And Johannesburg Against Injustice has stepped up its efforts to garner support for the embattled minister.
“We are going to picket outside the Brooklyn Mall on Friday at 16:00. We expect around 20 to 30 people to picket in support of Pravin Gordhan,” said spokesperson Shabir Ballim.
Ballim said the protest was also against the reported state capture by the controversial Gupta family, which had close ties to President Jacob Zuma.
“The protest is also against the use of state institutions such as the National Prosecuting Authority and the Sars to fight political battles,” added Ballim.
He said that there will be no traffic disruptions during the picket.
