Visser to stand trial in 2017

He is to stand trial for the alleged murder of Moot pastor Elsabe van Niekerk.

Murder accused Stefan Visser (29) will stand trial in the North Gauteng High Court from 17 to 28 April next year.

The decision was made when he appeared in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court again on Friday.

Visser remains in police custody.

The 29-year-old was arrested for allegedly killing his mother-in-law, pastor Elsabe van Niekerk, by stabbing her 31 times with a knife in April in Gezina.

Earlier this year he applied for bail, which was denied.

He appeared in court again on 21 September, when it was again postponed pending further investigation.
