Six arrested for various crimes

Six suspects were arrested during a crime prevention operation in Moot on Wednesday night.
Police spokesperson Anton Breedt said the arrested were between the ages of 27 and 54 years of age.
He said a 34-year-old man was arrested for assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH) for stabbing another man in the arm.
It was alleged the victim had taken money from the stabber.
“The victim identified the man, and the knife allegedly used in the assault was found in his possession and was collected as evidence.”
Meanwhile a 54-year-old man was arrested in Adcock Park, Gezina for being in possession of and dealing dagga.
“When the man saw the police he tried to get rid of the evidence, fortunately he did not succeed,” said Breedt.
The operation, named Eyes and Ears was jointly sector managers of SAPS Pretoria Moot and residents.
Moot said: “The focus point was all public parks in the Moot such as Adcock Park, Trim Park, Cooperpark and other [criminal] hotspots identified by the community.”
He said this was established and long-running project between the CPF and the Pretoria Moot police which had had great successes in the past and would continue.
