The Eersterust police station embarked on a crime prevention operation in Eersterust earlier this week.
According to the Eersterust police spokesperson Sergeant Sam Shibambo, the operation was focused on drug-related crimes.
“During the operation 14 people were arrested for possession of drugs,” he said adding two more were arrested for possession and dealing drugs.
“All will appear in the Hatfield Magistrate’s Court soon,” Shibambo said.
This was the second operation in the Moot in a week.
The Moot police station had a clean-up operation recently when 13 people were arrested for various crimes.
