No arrest yet for armed robbery
Police urge residents to come forward with any information that could lead to an arrest.
The men who robbed Telkom store at The Grove mall at the weekend are still at large, Silverton police said on Tuesday.
Spokesperson Captain Jan Sepato said two armed men stormed into the store on Sunday held up the employees at gunpoint then stole an unknown number of products.
Mall spokesperson Pierre Botha said: “No gunshots were fired and no one got hurt.”
He said no clients were present when the robbery took place.
“We would like to ask all our clients and shoppers to be aware of their surroundings and to report any suspicious behaviour as soon as possible.”
Sepato said a charge of business robbery had been laid.
“We would like to ask the public to assist the police with information that may lead to an arrest.”
