Another younster dies for a cellphone

Another innocent life was taken, when a young man was stabbed for his cellphone.

A young man and his girlfriend were brutally attacked when two men demanded their cellphones in the Mamelodi cemetery.

19-year-old Theodore Junies was stabbed to death on Tuesday evening when two men tried to steal their cellphones.

Junies lived with his grandmother in the back of the Lede in Christus Church.

Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Johan van Byk said, “The young man was stabbed to death as he and his girlfriend took a shortcut through the Mamelodi cemetery.”

The police are following up on various leads in connection to Junies’ murder, and hope to make an arrest soon.

Junies was a Grade 11 pupil at the Prosperitus High School and wrote exams hours before he was killed.
