Centurion dance crew has got the talent
The crew walked away with the grand prize of a whopping R500 000.
Local hip-hop dance crew Kryptonite Dance Academy were victorious in the 2016 SA’s Got Talent on Sunday bagging itself a whopping R500 000 in prizemoney.
Eugene Baloyi, of the Centurion-based academy, said he was overwhelmed and blessed. “We are thankful to South Africa for supporting our dream. All the dancers and the academy are humbled.”
Baloyi, who is one of the crew’s choreographers, said he and his partner, Zoyi Mondlane could not express the magnitude of their gratitude to the 27 dancers who made the win possible.

“We believe that dance is the right platform to take children off the streets and steer them into the right direction away from society’s pressures,” he said.
“This win acts as a beacon of hope for the dance industry in South Africa and we are happy that dance is finally becoming recognised as a serious career.”
Baloyi said the dancers had to juggle rehearsal and schoolwork.
“This proves that you can still dance and study without your marks dropping and for that we are proud of the dancers and we hope this win has inspired all dancers to aim for the sky.”
He said the prizemoney would contribute to their dream of owning a building for the academy to open up more space for more kids to dance.
“We want to perform on all South African platforms available to us.”
