Brutal golf club attack leaves domestic worker in a coma

Police confirmed that the suspect was arrested and charged with attempted murder.

The Citizen reported that a domestic worker was almost beaten to death by her employer’s son on a plot in Montana, Pretoria, leaving her in a coma for days.

The woman’s family said they were alerted on November 25 that their sister was assaulted and rushed to hospital in a critical condition.

The woman suffered critical injuries when the 28-year-old man attacked her, apparently with a golf club. He then went to the Sinoville Police Station to report that he had committed a murder, requesting to be arrested.

“He was arrested and charged with attempted murder,” spokesperson Warrant Officer Johan van Dyk said.

“He appeared in court last Monday, but the case was remanded to next week for further investigation. He is in custody at Kgosi Mampuru II prison.”
