Proteas captain Faf du Plessis’s appeal hearing against his ball tampering sanction is set for Monday 19 December.
Cricket SA confirmed on Wednesday the 32-year-old would appeal the guilty verdict after the ICC found he tampered with the ball during the second Test against Australia in Hobart last month.
Television footage appeared to show Du Plessis applying an “artificial substance” to the ball.
The Pretoria-born player was fined 100 percent of his match fee and three demerit points were added to his disciplinary record.
“Michael Beloff QC has been appointed judicial commissioner to hear the appeal,” said the ICC in a statement.

“Legal counsel for both parties will attend in Dubai, while Du Plessis will join via telephone.”
The ICC said it would publish the result of the hearing through its usual channels and would not be making any further comment until that time.
Du Plessis will captain the Proteas against the Springboks tomorrow in the Nelson Mandela Legacy cup at Newlands Stadium.
