Two nabbed over fatal robbery bid

Two men have been captured over an armed robbery that saw a customer being killed in the east.

The robbery took place at a Liquor City in Castle Walk shopping centre at 19:41 on Saturday.
Garsfontein police spokesperson Captain Ilze Jones said the customer was taken to Unitas hospital in a critical condition after he was wounded.
He died around 23:02.
Two men were caught in connection with the armed robbery in Eersterust on Monday morning.

“They were arrested by the Tshwane central policing cluster,” said Jones.
She said police were still investigating in the hope of two finding two other culprits linked to the robbery.
Jones earlier said four men stormed into the Liquor City.
One them was armed.
A shootout ensued between the robber and the store manager and a customer was hit in the crossfire.
Jones said according to reports from the scene, the robbers got away in a red 1400 bakkie.
Nothing was stolen.
Video footage showed the culprits trying to break a glass cabinet containing with expensive alcohol without success.
