No injuries in company shootout
Police say a number of shots were fired and all missed.
The police are investigating a case of attempted murder after a businessman was assaulted at the company he works for in Silverton recently.
According police the businessman, was attacked by a group of men who demanded access to the company’s safe.
“One man pointed a gun at the businessman and demanded keys to the safe,” said police spokesperson Jan Sepato.
“The businessman had a gun on him and it was taken by one of the men. He grabbed the businessman’s hand and several shots were fired.”
Sepato said though the man fired at the businessman, he missed.

“The businessman tried to get another gun in the safe but another man prevented him from doing so by firing several times at him through the window. He too missed,” said Sepato.
He said the businessman managed to call for help.
“When the security company and the police arrived at the scene, the men were gone and we only found a firearm that the businessman believes belonged to one of the men.”
“We are calling on the public to come forward with any information that will help us nail the culprits.”
