Somali trio arrested for murder
The shop owner was asleep in the back room when he was shot by three Somali nationals.
Three Somalis were arrested on Tuesday in connection with the murder of a businessman in Salvakop, Pretoria Central.
Police spokesperson Captain Augustinah Selepe said the Ethiopian shop owner was shot and killed on Monday.
“Three armed suspects allegedly entered Woza Woza tuck shop on Monday evening and demanded to see the owner,” said Selepe.
She said the owner was sleeping in the back room.
“When they got into the room, they shot the owner then fled in a white vehicle.”
The owner died on the scene.

Selepe said the men took an undisclosed amount of cash.
“After receiving a tip-off, police managed to arrest the suspects.”
“Both the unlicensed firearm and the vehicle used during the murder were recovered in Sunnyside on Tuesday,” she said.

The men, aged between 26 and 27, will appear in Pretoria Magistrate’s Court soon on charges of murder and business robbery.
