Suspected Pretoria killers appear in court
Three Somali nationals are accused of shooting and killing a businessman.
Three Somali nationals accused of killing a businessman in Salvokop in
central Pretoria were denied bail on Thursday.
The trio appeared in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on Thursday on
charges of murder, said police spokesperson Captain Augustinah Selepe.
“They made a brief appearance and the matter was postponed to 13
February. They remain in custody.”
The men were arrested on Tuesday in connection with the murder of a
Ethiopian businessman.
“Three armed suspects allegedly entered Woza Woza tuck shop on Monday
evening and demanded to see the owner,” said Selepe said last week.
The owner was sleeping in the back room.
“When they got into the room, they shot him and fled in a white vehicle.”
The owner died on the scene.

Selepe said the attackers took an undisclosed amount of cash.
“After receiving a tip-off, police arrested the suspects,” she said.
“An unlicensed firearm and the vehicle used in the crime were
recovered in Sunnyside on Tuesday.”
