Six men have been arrested in connection with an armed robbery in the west of Pretoria on Wednesday.
Police spokesperson Kay Makhubele said eight men attempted to rob a cash-in-transit vehicle at a petrol station on the corner of Rebecca and Vom Hagen streets around 09:15.

According to a reliable source, one of the robbers was injured and another died during a shootout with police.
Police pursued the robbers in a helicopter, said the source.

Two firearms were found on the scene.
Makhubele said the police were investigating and more information would be provided shortly.
