NEWSFLASH: Body found in Garsfontein

“Police forensics had cordoned off the area by 11:00 and were about to remove the body.”

A body of a man was found in a veld near Eastside school in Garsfontein on Monday morning.

Accon security marketing manager Marcus Welthagen said the body was found by a pastor on the corner of Garsfontein Road and Primula Street.

He said it was still unconfirmed how long the body had been lying there for but Accon reaction officer responded to the discovery around 08:12.

Police forensics have cordoned off the area by 11:00 and were about to remove the body,” Welthagen said.

He said the body was found near a parked car with stab wounds.

Garsfontein police spokesperson Captain Ilze Jones said more information on the crime would be communicated.

“We can confirm there was an incident reported in Primula Street around 06:45,” she said.

Police are currently on the scene and more information will be conveyed.”
