A 26-year-old man was arrested on Sunday, in connection with a restaurant robbery in Centurion last week.
Police spokesperson Captain Augustinah Selepe on Monday said the man was arrested while on duty at the restaurant.
“He was linked [to the robbery] through his cellphone,” said Selepe.
“The suspect confessed he had organised the robbery with his brothers.”

Hi Risk spokesperson Arthur Crewe earlier said his security guards were responding to a robbery scene in Centurion when they collided into another car, which turned out to be a robbery getaway car.

He said the robbers attempted to escape but his team gave chase.
“The chase ended when a shoot-out ensued on the R101 Old Johannesburg Road,” said Crewe.
“The robbers surrendered after two of them were injured. One of the robbers was fatally wounded.”
Crewe said cash, cellphones and other items were found in the getaway car.
Selepe said the getaway BMW and an unlicensed firearm had also been confiscated.
ER24 confirmed one man was killed and another was critically injured.
Selepe said all the three men plus the restaurant worker were expected to appear in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court soon.
