The frantic search for a missing Soshanguve primary school teacher has entered the fourth week.
Philile Gumede (28), a teacher at Baleseng Primary School in Block L Soshanguve, has been missing since Saturday April 22.
Police spokesperson Constable Zanele Mtsweni told Rekord this week that the young teacher was still missing and police were frantically searching for her.
“We have questioned everyone including her alleged boyfriend, friends and family. We have checked video footage of the place where the boyfriend allegedly dropped her off. We have applied to look into the cellphone records. We will leave no stone unturned in her search. We hope to make a breakthrough in this case soon,” she said.

Gumede was last seen by her family when she left her Soshanguve home with a man said to be her boyfriend in a red VW Golf 1, saying she was going to his house in Gezina.
After the family reported her missing, police summoned the man.
“He came through to the station and admitted that he did pick her up on Saturday April 22, but he stressed that he later dropped her off at Soshanguve Crossing Mall that day,” said Mtsweni.
“We have checked the video footage of the place where he says he dropped her off. Though the camera did not reach that gate clearly, we did not see Philile on the footage,” she said.
The boyfriend told police he was not always with Philile since they were only having a casual relationship, having met on facebook.
Sibonelo Gumede (31), the missing woman’s brother, told Rekord this week that the family was devastated about Philile’s disappearance.
“We have tried to call her numerous times since the day she went missing and her cellphone is on voicemail.
Sibonelo appealed to members of the public with information to contact the family. “We are worried because we do not know what might have happened to her,” he said.
