A father has told of how he found his two children dead in their mother’s home on Sunday.
The woman is missing and police are searching for her.
Police received a call from the distraught man who reported that he had just found his son, 7, and daughter 2, murdered at his wife’s Stinkwater, Hammanskraal, home.
Police spokesperson Captain Samuel Sebola said the man had decided to go check on his children after his wife had called him to say she had travelled to Limpopo with them.
“He told police that earlier in the week, he had received a call from the woman’s employers, asking where she was as she had not been to work for three days,” said Sebola.
The man then decided to go to her home to see who was looking after the children.
“When he arrived at the woman’s Mokone section home after 14:00, he found the children on the bed covered with a blanket. He tried to wake them up but realised they were not breathing. He called the neighbours and asked for help. It looks like the children were suffocated,” said Sebola.

“The whereabouts of the children’s 25-year-old mother are still unknown. She left her two cellphones at the house,” said Sebola.
“We have launched a search for her. We believe she can be able to shed some light on what happened to the children,” he said.
