
A man has been has been arrested for burglary after he broke into a house in Erasmia on Sunday.
Centurion police spokesperson Tumisang Moloto said the burglary occurred at a house in Scheeper Street, Laezonia plot around 22:00.
“The man allegedly broke a window to gain entry into the house,” said Moloto.
He said the homeowner arrived shortly after the break-in and phoned the police when he caught the burglar in the act.

Moloto said the perpetrator tried to escape, but was later found by police with a Dstv decoder, a purse, clothes and shoes in his possession.
He said the man was expected to appear in the Attridgeville Magistrate’s Court soon.
Moloto said 18 people were arrested during a stop and search operation in Erasmia, on the R55 and Mooiplaas informal settlement at the weekend.
“Offences included possession of dagga, various traffic offences and selling liquor without licence.”
