A Soshanguve woman has been reunited with her missing baby, but police have placed her in protective custody for her safety.
This follows a feud with the baby’s father in which he allegedly kidnapped the 8 month old toddler last week.
He returned the baby on Tuesday then went into hiding.

More (29) of Soshanguve cxtension 1, told Rekord on Tuesday that though reunited with her baby, she feared for her safety because she did not know what her baby’s father’s next step would be.
Police spokesperson Captain Matthews Nkoadi said on Tuesday that after disappearing with the baby girl for six days, the father returned and dropped her off at her grandmother’s house.
More had reported to the police that she was driving with baby Rekgopotse in Soshanguve on Wednesday 17 May, when a white Mercedes-Benz blocked her off.
She said the baby’s father, stepped out and smashed her car window with a brick, grabbed Rekgopotse and drove off with her.

Nkoadi said the child was brought to the police by the grandmother on Tuesday.
“We took the baby to the doctor for medical attention. She seems to be well at this stage. There were no signs of abuse according to the doctor. But the 38-year-old father is not off the hook yet as he needs to face charges of kidnapping. He has gone into hiding.”
Nkoadi said Rekgopotse’s father had also taken a baby car seat and nappy bag with the baby in a feat of rage during the alleged kidnapping.
“I am relieved that he has returned my baby but I am living in fear as I do not know what his next plan is,” said More, who is in a place of safety. Nkoadi said the police were investigating a case of kidnapping.
