Police are looking for four men who hijacked a delivery truck and stole the driver’s cellphone in Soshanguve on Thursday.
Rietgat police spokesperson Captain Stephen Maluleke said the men hijacked a white Hyundai H100 truck with registration DL12BDGP at block MM.
“According to the victim, four suspects in a red 1400 bakkie forced him off the road while he was driving along Soutpan Road near Block MM in Soshanguve.”

Maluleke said the man panicked and stopped.
“The victim said two of the suspects pointed firearms at him and took him to the nearby bushes where they robbed him of his cellphone.”
He said the hijackers then sped off and left the victim at the scene.
“The victim asked for help from community members who contacted police.”

Rietgat station commander Colonel Dikeledi Hlatshwayo said: “No stone will be left unturned and the suspects should know a team is working around the clock to nab them.”
Hlatshwayo warned motorists to always be vigilant while driving around the township.
She said if residents saw any suspicious activity they should SMS Crime Line on 32211, dial 10111, or phone Rietgat police station on 012-432-7806.
