A body has been discovered in a veld between Erasmia and Laudium, police confirmed on Tuesday.
Constable Mandlakayise Zwane said the body of a man reported missing on Sunday, was discovered around 08:45 on Monday.
“He was found lying face down, without any clothing, hands and legs bound and with multiple injuries,” said Zwane.
“Near the body was a number of blood-stained bricks and clothing items.”

Zwane said the body was later identified by a family member as Lawrence Choena Mojela (35), from Atteridgeville.
He said the motive for the killing was unknown.
“No one has been arrested and police are investigating.”
Zwane said the police issued a stern warning to all residents to refrain from taking the law into their own hands.
“Communities are encouraged to report perpetrators of crime to the police.”
In March, a man’s body was found at a sewage treatment plant at Sunderland Ridge near Erasmia.
The victim’s hands and feet had been tied with a rope and he had visible injuries to his lower body.

On Tuesday, police spokesperson Constable Tumisang Moloto said the body had yet to be identified.
“It was believed the man had been murdered elsewhere before his body was dumped at the plant,” said Moloto.
