A woman who spent the night drinking with a man has accused him of rape.
Police spokesperson Constable Mandlakayise Zwane said the woman was allegedly raped in Laudium after the two returned from a night club in Sunnyside.
“The victim alleged that she visited the suspect’s house in Laudium for him to install software in her phone on Monday night, when the two started drinking.

The suspect received a call from his wife, concerning the well-being of their child. He and the victim drove to pick the child up for medical attention, but they ended up in Europa night club, he said.
Zwane said the two left the night club after a few drinks.
“The suspect suggested that they should go see his wife and took the R21 route back to Laudium.
“While driving, the suspect stopped the car and started fondling the victim,” Zwane said.
“The complainant told the suspect that she didn’t want to have sex, however they could do so when they arrived in Laudium.
“ On arrival in Laudium at about 05:00, the complainant jumped out of the car and ran into the house but the suspect followed her and forcefully had intercourse with her,” Zwane said.
The suspect has been arrested.

“The victim was taken to the local clinic for medical examination. The suspect is expected to appear in court soon,” Zwane said.
