Solar panels to the value of R150 000 were stolen during a business robbery in Olievenhoutbosch on Thursday.
Police spokesperson Constable Mandlakayise Zwane said this happened at Olievenhout plaza in extension 38, Centurion around 23:30.
He said it was believed seven robbers gained entry to the plaza from two different areas.
“Two suspects crawled under a pedestrian gate, while three suspects broke open the main entry gate,” said Zwane.

He said two other robbers then entered the premises in a Toyota Quantum minibus.
Zwane said the seven robbers then assaulted two security guards with firearms and forced them to load the solar panels into the minibus.
“The suspects took 26 Jinko solar panels, valued at R150 000.”
“The security guards sustained severe injuries, but no shots were fired at the scene.”

He said the robbers escaped and police were investigating.
Olievenhoutbosch police appealed to residents not to buy any stolen property.
“Such an act makes them accomplices to the crime,” said Zwane.
