The Wierdabrug police arrested four people on Tuesday morning for attempting to steal a truck.
Wierdabrug police spokesperson Captain Agnes Huma said the arrested, between the ages of 23 and 24, were caught in the act by Cop Watch security guards.

“They were seen attempting to steal a truck in Koedoe Street, Wierda Park around 02:00,” said Huma.
She said when the robbers realised they had been seen, they fled in a white Volkswagen Polo.
She said the officers pursued them and called for backup and members of other security companies responded.
“With excellent teamwork and communication, the Polo was stopped on the corner of Lancia and Piet Hugo streets.”
Huma said the arrested faced charges of possession of stolen property, possession of house break-in implements and reckless and negligent driving.
They were detained at the Wierdabrug police station and would appear in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court soon.
