Ten sought in west cash-in-transit heist
Earlier reports indicated that there was a shoot-out between the robbers and Fidelity guards, but Msimango said no shots were fired.
Residents have been urged to help the police find 10 men who robbed a Fidelity van in the west of Pretoria on Monday night.
Tshwane West cluster police spokesperson Captain Bonginkosi Msimango said the robbery took place on the corner of Rod and Van Delsen Street in West Park around 19:00.

“Two security guards from Fidelity were in transit to collect money from various garages when a Hilux single cab drove in front of them at the stop sign,” said Msimango.
“Moments later, three other vehicles blocked the van from the front and rear. The robbers forced the two security guards out of the van and robbed them of a revolver and 9mm pistol.”
Earlier reports indicated that there was a shoot-out between the robbers and Fidelity guards, but Msimango said no shots were fired.
“As the suspects were busy inside the security van, the two guards managed to escape to safety.”
“The suspects blew up the security truck and took an undisclosed amount of cash,” he said.
Msimango said no arrests had been made and the investigation was ongoing.
“We appeal to anyone with information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the suspects to contact the SAPS on 08600-1011.”
