The Wierdabrug police are investigating a case of murder after a taxi marshal was shot and killed in Centurion on Wednesday afternoon.
Police spokesperson Captain Bonginkosi Msimango said on Thursday the killers were still on the run.
“The deceased, who was in his 40s, was attacked at the corner of Hendrik Verwoerd Drive and Old Johannesburg Road by two armed suspects who were on foot.”
“The man was found lying in the grass, a few metres away from a taxi. He had sustained gunshot wounds to his chest and head.”

Msimango said no arrest had been made and a case of murder was being investigated.
The motive of the killing was not known.
“We appeal to community members with information to contact crime stop on 08600-10111.” Msimango said.
ER24 spokesperson Russell Meiring said: “When paramedics arrived on the scene unfortunately nothing could be done for the victim and he was declared dead on the scene.”
