A man was killed and three others wounded in a shooting in Centurion on Friday.
ER24 ambulance services said this happened in Olievenhoutboschnear the R55.
“Our paramedics, along with other services arrived on the scene and found the local authorities already in attendance,” it said in a statement.
“Upon closer inspection, paramedics found a light motor vehicle lying on the side of the road in a ditch.”

Paramedics were led into an informal settlement where a man was found dead.
“Our paramedics assessed him and found that he had already succumbed to his gunshot wounds.”
The man was declared dead on the scene.
“Three other men were found just a short distance from their vehicle,” said the statement.

“Paramedics assessed the men and found that they had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate.”
They were treated on the scene and were taken to the Tembisa provincial hospital for further care.
“Another man, already in local authority custody, was assessed and found to have escaped injury.”
“It is understood that the authorities were chasing the men when their light motor vehicle crashed. A shootout ensued between the authorities and suspects.”

Exact details were not immediately clear and would be investigated, ER24 said.
