
The Garsfontein police have launched a manhunt for two criminals in the east of Pretoria.
The two had been identified by residents, police said in a statement.
One of the men was wanted for a house robbery and murder, and the second one for a burglary.
“The suspect wanted for a house robbery and murder broke into a home with an accomplice while the occupants were asleep,” the police said.

“When the residents woke up, two armed men were standing in their room. They demanded to see the safe in the house and asked for money.”
The residents told police the intruders were not aggressive.
“According to one of the homeowners, they spent a long time in the house,” said the police.
“One of the suspects got into a struggle with the man of the house. They ended up in the front yard of the property and a shot was fired.”

It killed the husband and the attackers fled the scene.
Police said another man was being sought for a house robbery in February this year.

“A woman was cleaning her house when she heard a noise. When she went to inspect, she saw two suspects in her house,” the police said.
One of them was armed and asked the woman for valuable items in the house.

“The two suspects searched the house and took the woman to the bedroom where they demanded more items,” the police said.
They locked her in a bathroom before fleeing the scene.
