A Sunnyside nightclub has denied being the venue of fatal shooting on Sunday morning.
Ayepyep Lifestyle Lounge issued the denial on its Facebook page.

“Ayepyep Lifestyle Lounge overheard about the shooting incident that happened last night and/or in the early hours of the morning in Gerhard Moerdyk street (and not at Ayepyep Lounge as is being rumoured) of a lady apparently reported dead on the crime scene,” said the club.
“We condemn such conduct, including any violence against any person, including women.”
Sunnyside police spokesperson captain Daniel Mavimbela said the shooter, a 30-year-old man, left the nightclub with another man and two women.
“It is reported that the suspect had left a nightclub in the company of a male friend and two women before the quartet boarded a Mercedes Benz Viano driven by the male friend,” Mavimbela said.

“Reports suggest that the victim found her way into the vehicle. This led to an argument because the deceased was reportedly not welcomed by the other occupants of the vehicle.”
Mavimbela said it was believed the culprit then pulled a handgun and shot the woman. She died from a head wound. The shooter fled the scene.
“With the police hot on his trail and after various raids were conducted the suspect had no option but to hand himself over at the Sunnyside police station,” Mavimbela said.
The man was expected to appear in the Pretoria Magistrate court on Tuesday.
