A group of armed men robbed a store in Hercules on Wednesday.
Khan Cellular and Electronic store in Moot Street was robbed around 12:00.
Police spokesperson Constable Mandlakayise Zwane said one of the robbers entered the store pretending to be a customer and asked for a cellphone charger.
“As the owner of the store was looking for a phone charger, several men entered the store and held the owner up at gunpoint before tying him up,” said Zwane.
He said the robbers took an undisclosed amount of cash and cellphones and ran away.
“The estimated value of the stolen items was around R20 000.”
“No shots were fired and the owner was unharmed.”

Zwane said a business robbery docket was opened at Hercules police station.
“We are requesting the community to come forward if they have any information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects.”
“If anyone has information, they can visit or call the nearest police station or the Hercules police.”
