A landlord was shot and killed in his home by unknown robbers in Atteridgeville in the early hours of Saturday.
Police spokesperson Constable Mandlakayise Zwane said the incident happened around 02:30 in an informal settlement west of the city.
“The landlord’s wife said she heard her husband scream for help in one of the backrooms they are renting out. She said a number of attackers broke into the shacks and fired four shots at her husband.”

Zwane said the victim was hit in the leg and on his upper body.
“Unfortunately, he died upon arrival at the Kalafong hospital. An undisclosed amount of cash and items were taken during the robbery.”
“The motive of the killing was unknown and no one has been arrested,” Zwane said.
He said a case of murder was opened at the Atteridgeville SAPS.
