The Montana KFC assault case has been postponed to 18 October for further investigation.
The five men accused of assaulting Jacob Sono and his wife Dudu at the fast-food outlet drive-through on 3 August in Montana appeared in the Pretoria North Magistrate’s Court again on Thursday morning.

Stephan Nel (38), Joshua Schultz (21), DJ van Rooyen (21) and Marius Harding (23) were remanded in custody while Ockert Muller (20) was out on bail.
Last month the men applied for bail and Nel, Schultz, Van Rooyen were denied while Harding abandoned his bid for freedom.
The five have been charged with attempted murder‚ assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and the pointing of a firearm following the alleged attack which was caught on video and posted to social media.

Defence attorneys previously told court the men were “unfairly defamed” by being called a racist group in the media and by social media users when they didn’t even all know each other.
During the bail application, Nel, Schultz, Van Rooyen had argued that since there had not been a public outcry when Muller was released on bail they did not believe there would be one when the were released.
Magistrate Mothloki Rapulana said there was a likelihood that‚ if released‚ the accused might interfere with witnesses‚ there would be a public outcry and the public would not have confidence in the criminal justice system.
NPA spokesperson Luvuyo Mfaku also spoke his mind about the matter on 30 August after the men were denied bail.
