A 32-year-old man who had been hiding in Hammanskraal after allegedly stabbing his girlfriend to death in Limpopo earlier this year was arrested on Thursday.
Police spokesperson, Constable Herman Moremi, said the wanted man was arrested at Moeka Village on Thursday after police received a tip-off from residents that one of Limpopo’s most wanted suspects was hiding in their community.
“The suspect was hiding at Zone 5 in Moeka and had already started a small business,” said Moremi.
Moremi said the man became a wanted man after he allegedly stabbed and killed his girlfriend and fled.

“People recognised him from the posters for wanted suspects. He was arrested at around 16:00 on Thursday,” said Moremi.
“During the arrest he told the police that he killed his girlfriend because she was cheating on him and he stabbed her with a knife several times in the upper body.”

He is detained at Temba police and will be transferred back to his province where he will appear in court.
Moremi said police would like to thank residents for giving information in assisting to fight crime and also not taking the law into their own hands.
He urged other residents to follow the example of the Moeka community and cooperate with the police.
