Four arrested in Mamelodi

The premises were searched and a room filled with several vehicle parts was found.

Four people were arrested by members of the National Trio Crime Task Team in Pretoria.

According to a statement by the police a vehicle and vehicle parts worth millions was also recovered.

“During an intelligence-driven operation, the team went to a house surrounded by high walls in Ledwaba Street in Mamelodi,” they said.

“On the premises were three vehicles of which one was an Opel Corsa Lite that tested positive as stolen in Villieria earlier this year.”

Police said the premises was searched and a room filled with several vehicle parts was found.

“The majority of the parts were identified as Mercedes components belonging to vehicles that were either reported stolen or hijacked,” they said.

They said 30 other parts, including, engines, side doors, bonnets and boot-doors were also confiscated.

“Police arrested four people aged between 20 and 45,” police said.

“They will appear in the Mamelodi Magistrate’s Court on charges of suspected stolen motor vehicles on Monday.”
