Three people were arrested for drug possession in Sunnyside in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Sunnyside police spokesperson, Captain Daniel Mavimbela, said the three were nabbed while police were patrolling.
“Police reportedly noticed a suspicious looking motor vehicle with three occupants, parked at one of the local filling stations. A tactical approach towards the vehicle enabled the police to apprehend all three suspects following an alleged attempt to escape on foot,” said Mavimbela.

“The car in which the suspects were spotted, was impounded. It had a non-South African registration number on it. The citizenship status of the suspects is yet to be confirmed. The suspects, aged between 30 and 35, will be charged with possession of dagga,” said Mavimbela.
