A team of the Tshwane metro’s technicians is currently on-site repairing the cables that were cut and stolen on Wednesday in Nellmapius.
The damage was “quite extensive” and needed meticulous attention, the metro said.
“If all repair work goes according to plan, it is hoped that the power supply to the affected areas will be restored around 19:00 today.”
Areas affected by the repair work include:
– N4-Gateway
– Savannah Estate
– Nellmapius
“The theft and damage caused to the infrastructure are deplorable,” Lindela Mashigo, director of media relations, said.
He said the city wished to apologise to the affected customers for the inconvenience caused.
