Police are confident that four men from the north of Pretoria who escaped from prison a month ago will soon be rearrested.

“We are certain they are going to be rearrested soon,” police spokesperson Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo said.
“We know where they stay and we are now engaging with their companions and next of kin.”
Four awaiting trial prisoners from Mabopane and Soshanguve escaped from police custody in Bela Bela on 10 September and are still at large.

Mojapelo previously said the residents of Soshanguve and Mabopane should watch out for these escapees: Silence Dube (29) of Soshanguve, Philani Sithole (30) of Mabopane, Thabang Dube (30) of Mabopane and Joshua Mogashoa whose address was unknown.
“We believe that they may have escaped back into their hometowns, and we would like to urge residents in those areas not to approach them as they may be armed,” Mojapelo said.
The suspected criminals who had been arrested for armed robbery broke out of prison ahead of their trial date in the Bela Bela magistrate’s court on 14 September.
He said the circumstances of their escape were still being investigated
The police urged anyone with information on their whereabouts to contact the nearest police station or Crime Stop on 08600-10111.
