Many arrested in the northern suburbs of the city

Police in the north made their presence felt this weekend with a total of 462 arrests.

The Tshwane North Cluster made over 400 arrests this weekend in various operations.

Police spokesperson Captain Rebecca Phatlhane said 10 police stations within the cluster apprehended and detained 461 people in a collective effort aimed at curbing the rampant scourge of crime in the Tshwane North Cluster.

“The perpetrators were arrested for committing crimes ranging from murder, fraud, malicious damage to property, shoplifting, house robbery, business robbery and the possession of hijacked vehicles, among others.”

The Cluster Commander Major General Hilda Mohajane lauded the men and women in blue for their dedication and diligence towards ensuring that the streets were clean and free from illegal activities and criminality.

“All arrested suspects will soon appear at the Ga-Rankuwa, Moretele, Pretoria North and the Soshanguve Magistrates’ Court respectively,” Phatlhane said.
