“He is okay. Just very traumatised over what happened.

A 55-year-old man who was shot in the head during a robbery in Ashlea Gardens last week is recovering.

A family member told Rekord this week that the victim was still traumatised.

“He is okay. Just very traumatised over what happened. We all are.”

According to Life Med emergency service spokesperson Renata Erasmus, the victim suffered critical injuries.

“The patient sustained multiple gunshot wounds,” she said.

Police spokesperson Captain Colette Weilbach said no arrest had been made.

The victim woke up last week Wednesday and found two unknown armed men in his bedroom in Maroelana Road.

He immediately pressed a panic button. The suspects then shot him in the left leg and in the head.

A TV set was stolen during the robbery.

Police encouraged anyone with information to come forward.
