NEWSFLASH: Security guard shot dead in Olievenhoutbosch

Another guard is recovering in hospital after he was shot in his private parts.

A security guard was shot and killed while another was seriously hurt during an attack in Olievenhoutbosch on Sunday evening.

Police spokesperson Constable Kate Selepe said this happened at around 21:00 near the corner of Umhlume and Legong streets in extension 15.

“The two guards from Night Guard Security company were buying food at a spaza shop when two unknown men approached them and grabbed one of the guards’ firearm.

The suspects opened fire before fleeing the scene. One guard was shot in his private parts and the other in the right shoulder.”

Selepe said the two guards were taken to the Unitas hospital in Centurion.

“The guard who was shot in the shoulder died on arrival.

“The two suspects are still at large,” she said.

Selepe said a case of murder was opened at the Olievenhoutbosch police station.
