A joint operation by local law enforcement agencies led to several arrests in the west of Pretoria on Friday.
Dubbed Operation Fiela, the operation was conducted in Pretoria Central, Pretoria West, Hercules, Atteridgeville, Laudium and Danville.
The operation was a joint effort by SAPS units, Gauteng traffic police, Tshwane metro police, ICASA, the department of home affairs and SARS-customs.
About 242 motor vehicles were searched and 96 road traffic fines were issued at roadblocks.

Twelve people were arrested for possession of drugs.
Fourteen liquor outlets were also checked for whether they had proper licensing.
Six people at store outlets were nabbed for selling suspected stolen goods.
Suspected stolen electronics estimated to be in the value of R6 000 were also confiscated.
The operation was led by Commander Brigadier Kgabo Phukubje.
“We will at all times make sure that our communities feel and live safe,” he said.
