Villieria police in the Moot have made some arrests in two separate cases last week.
Spokesperson Captain Coba Brits said the first arrest happened on Wednesday.
“We received a complaint of a break-in at Hoërskool FH Odendaal where numerous projectors and other electric equipment were stolen,” Brits said.
She said constables John Mokwana and Lawrance Tona began to search for the suspects the following day.
“They watched the video footage and after noticing that no getaway vehicle was used they started searching the surrounding areas,” she said.
She said Mokwana indicated that the burglars escaped to the mountain making use of the exit routes.

“In one of the streets in the area the constables saw a suspicious person enter premises well-known for criminal activities,” she said.
Brits said they followed the person and found him inside the premises along with his friend with all the stolen items in a school bag.
“The police officers identified the school bag as that of Hoërskool FH Odendaal,” Brits said.
“All the stolen items, as well as equipment used for the break-in, were still in the bag.”
The two men appeared at the Pretoria Magistrates court on Friday and the matter was postponed for further investigation.
More arrests happened on Thursday in a separate case.

Brits said the arrest happened after a suspicious vehicle was identified in the Moot area by Kilnerpark Security. “A hot pursuit took place from the Pretoria Moot policing precinct through to the Villieria policing precinct,” she said.
She said the vehicle was stopped and two men were arrested.
“In the vehicle, they found an unlicensed firearm and a device used for jamming,” she said.
The Villieria police station commander Colonel Semakaleng Tindeka congratulated the police on the arrests.
She also thanked Kilnerpark Security and officers from the Pretoria Moot police for their assistance and encouraged them to keep up the good work.
